mySkin-omics

Why the study is needed

mySkin-omics aims to identify markers that will enable doctors to give the right medicine to the right patient at the right time. Researchers are doing this by collecting blood and other biological samples as well as looking at how drugs are handled in the body. Once discovered, doctors will be able to use the genetic and biological blueprint of each patient to identify which treatments are most likely to work (and be the safest or least likely to cause side effects).

What the study involves

Participants will be asked to provide clinical information (including things like their general health, and medications they are taking), complete questionnaires about their health, and provide a sample of blood for scientific investigations.

Optional samples: Some participants may be invited to attend additional visits and provide additional samples (such as skin biopsies, skin tape strip samples, skin swabs, and tear fluid), which are optional.

Who can take part

Anyone with eczema can take part, and the study is being run by the team here at St John’s Institute of Dermatology.
